I would have been about nine or ten years old when Enya’s album Watermark appeared in our house on cassette tape. Was it a birthday gift, or a Mother’s Day gift for mum? Nobody can remember now, it was that long ago.
But, I do remember falling in love with the solo piano pieces on the album. So much so that, with encouragement from my dad, I transcribed them by ear to sheet music so that I too could play them. Sadly, the transcriptions are lost to time, but the memories are unforgettable!
In this recording, I am playing from official sheet music, with the addition of some warm fuzzy synthy happiness to accompany the gorgeous solo piano part. Enjoy!
